Heavenly Father,
I come before You today to put on the Armor of God and to ask for Your protection from evil.
I put on the Belt of Truth, that I may stand firm in Your word and reject any lies from the enemy.
I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness, that I may have a heart that is pure and holy, pleasing to You.
I put on the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, that I may be ready to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and to make peace with those around me.
I put on the Shield of Faith, that I may be able to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy and have confidence in Your promises.
I put on the Helmet of Salvation, that I may be protected in my mind and thoughts and have the assurance of eternal life in You.
I take up the Sword of the Spirit, which is Your word, that I may be able to stand against the enemy and his schemes and know the truth that sets me free.
God, I pray for Your protection and guidance as I go out into the world. I ask that You would give me the strength to stand firm in my faith, the wisdom to recognize deception, and the courage to proclaim Your truth.
I pray that Your love would shine through me and that many would come to know You through my words and actions.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
Suggested Bible Readings
Ephesians 6:10-18 ESV
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
Isaiah 11:5 ESV
Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist,
and faithfulness the belt of his loins.
1 Corinthians 16:13 ESV
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Isaiah 59:17 ESV
He put on righteousness as a breastplate,
and a helmet of salvation on his head;
he put on garments of vengeance for clothing,
and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak.
Hebrews 4:12 ESV
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
