Prayer After Communion

Heavenly Father,

We give thanks to You for this holy sacrament of Communion. We are grateful for the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and for the forgiveness of our sins made possible through His death on the cross.

As we partake of the bread and wine, we remember the body and blood of Jesus, and we are reminded of Your great love for us. We are also reminded of our call to follow Jesus and to live lives that please You.

We pray that You would continue to work in our hearts and lives, helping us to grow in our faith and to become more like Jesus each day. We ask that You would give us the strength and courage to share the Good News of Your love and grace with others.

We give thanks for the gift of eternal life and for the promise of one day being with You in heaven.

We pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26 ESV

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”

Prayer for Father

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with grateful hearts for the blessings of our earthly fathers. We thank You for the love and guidance they provide, for their hard work and sacrifice, and for the examples of Your grace and goodness that they reflect.

We ask that You would strengthen and encourage our fathers in the roles You have given them, granting them wisdom, patience, and compassion. We pray that You would grant them good health, provision, and joy in their lives.

We also ask that You would give them strength to lead their families in the ways of righteousness and truth, to teach their children to love and follow You, and to be a shining light in their communities.

We ask all these things in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer for Before a Meal

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with humble hearts, giving thanks for Your provision and blessings. We thank You for this food that has been prepared, and we are grateful for the hands that have worked to provide it.

We ask that You bless this meal and make it nourishment for our bodies, so that we may have the strength and energy to serve You and others.

We ask that You bless the hands of those who prepared this meal, and those who helped bring it to our table.

As we partake in this food, we remember Your love and sacrifice for us through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We ask that You guide us as we go about our day, and help us to be a light for You in all that we do.

We pray for Your protection and guidance for our families, friends and loved ones who are not here with us today. We also pray for those who are struggling today and we ask that You to be with them and to comfort them in their time of need.

And all these things we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Mother’s Love, Like Christ’s

Dear God,

We thank You for the gift of motherhood, and for entrusting these precious lives to the care of these women. On this special day, we lift up all mothers, and we pray that You would bless them with love like Christ’s, selfless and unconditional.

May these mothers follow Christ’s example of love and service, always seeking to put the needs of their families before their own. May they pour out their hearts in love and sacrifice, just as Christ did for us on the cross.

We pray that You would give these mothers the grace to love their families with patience, kindness, and compassion, just as Christ loved us. May their homes be filled with Your presence and Your love, and may they always find joy and fulfillment in their roles as mothers.

We ask all of these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Communion

Dear God,

As we come before You today to participate in the sacrament of Communion, we are reminded of the great love You have for us. We remember the sacrifice of Your son, Jesus, who gave his life for us on the cross.

We confess our sins and ask for Your forgiveness. Help us to turn away from our wrongdoing and follow You more closely.

As we partake of the bread and wine, we remember the broken body and shed blood of Jesus. May these symbols of his sacrifice strengthen our faith and bring us closer to You.

May this Communion be a time of renewal and restoration for us, as we seek to live out Your will for our lives.

We pray all of this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
