Heavenly Father,
We come to You today with grateful hearts, lifting up our teachers to You. We thank You for the gift of education and for the dedicated individuals who have chosen to invest their lives in the education of our children.
We ask that You would give them wisdom and discernment as they plan and teach each day. We pray that You would give them the strength and energy they need to meet the demands of their job. We pray that You would give them a love for the children they teach and a heart to reach each one with Your truth.
We pray that You would give them the courage to stand for what is right and to be a positive influence in the lives of their students.
We ask that You would bless their families and keep them healthy and strong. We pray for their safety and protection, both physically and emotionally.
We ask that You would give them the wisdom and guidance they need to lead their classrooms with grace and love.
We pray that You would be with them in all that they do and that You would be glorified through their work.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Suggested Bible Readings
Proverbs 3:13-18 ESV
Blessed is the one who finds wisdom,
and the one who gets understanding,
for the gain from her is better than gain from silver
and her profit better than gold.
She is more precious than jewels,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Long life is in her right hand;
in her left hand are riches and honor.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
and all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her;
those who hold her fast are called blessed.
James 1:5 ESV
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Colossians 3:23-24 ESV
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Proverbs 22:6 ESV
Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Matthew 22:37-40 ESV
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
