This is a simplified version of the Bible story found in Mark 10:46-52, written for children to understand. For the original version, please refer to the Bible passage.
Once there was a man named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus. He was blind and had to beg for money to survive.
One day, Jesus and His disciples were walking through the town of Jericho. Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was passing by, so he shouted out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Some people tried to make Bartimaeus be quiet, but he kept yelling, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus heard him and stopped. He said, “Bring him over to me.”
And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” Bartimaeus quickly took off his coat and jumped up to go to Jesus. Then Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”
Bartimaeus said, “Rabbi, I want to see again.” Jesus told him, “Your faith has made you well. Go, and you will be able to see.” Immediately, Bartimaeus could see again, and he was so happy that he started to follow Jesus on the way.
