This is a simplified version of the Bible story found in Genesis 2:20-25, written for children to understand. For the original version, please refer to the Bible passage.
Once upon a time, a long time ago, God made the first man in the world, and his name was Adam. Adam had a very special job, which was to take care of all the animals and plants that God created. But even though he had so many animals around him, Adam felt lonely sometimes.
One day, God saw that Adam needed someone to help him. God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep, and while he was sleeping, God took one of Adam’s ribs and used it to make a woman. When Adam woke up, he saw the woman next to him and said, “She is just like me! She is made from my own body!”
The woman and Adam loved each other very much and took care of the earth together. They walked around in the garden that God had made for them and were happy.
God made them special rules. He said that a man will leave his family and be with his wife, and they will become one. This means that they will always be together and take care of each other. Adam and the woman followed God’s rules, and they were very happy together. They didn’t even need clothes because they weren’t ashamed of each other.
