Heavenly Father,
We come to You today with heavy hearts, as one of Your children is suffering from illness. We know that You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to heal and restore health.
We humbly ask that You would touch this individual with Your healing hand. Bring comfort to their pain, strength to their weakness, and hope to their despair. May Your Grace, Lord, surround them and give them peace.
We also ask that You would provide the medical professionals treating them with wisdom and skill, and that through their efforts, Your healing power would be made manifest.
We trust in Your sovereignty, Lord, and know that whatever the outcome, it is for Your glory and the good of Your people. But, if it is Your will, we ask that You would heal this person and bring them back to full health and strength.
All of this we ask in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Suggested Bible Readings
Isaiah 41:10 ESV
Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Psalm 34:17-19 ESV
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
James 5:13-15 ESV
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
