This is a simplified version of the Bible story found in John 20:24-31, written for children to understand. For the original version, please refer to the Bible passage.
When Jesus first appeared to His disciples after coming back to life, Thomas, called the Twin, missed out on seeing Jesus.
The disciples told Thomas that they had seen Jesus, but he didn’t believe them. He said, “I won’t believe that Jesus is alive unless I can see the marks where the nails were on His hands and touch them, and unless I can also touch the wound on His side.”
Eight days later, Thomas was with the other friends when they were all inside with the doors locked. Suddenly, Jesus appeared. He said, “Peace be with you,” and then He turned to Thomas and said, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and put your hand here and touch my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Thomas was amazed and exclaimed, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me, but blessed are those who haven’t seen me and still believe.”
Biblical Lessons
- We should not rely solely on physical evidence to believe in Jesus; faith is also about trusting in the unseen.
- Jesus is the only way to eternal life, and believing in Him is the key to salvation.
