This is a simplified version of the Bible story found in Luke 8:43-48, written for children to understand. For the original version, please refer to the Bible passage.
There was a woman who had been sick for a very long time. She had been bleeding for twelve years, and no doctors could make her better, no matter how much money she spent.
One day, she heard about a man named Jesus who could perform miracles. She knew that if she could just touch the hem of his robe, she would be healed.
So she went to where Jesus was and snuck up behind him. She reached out and touched the hem of his robe, and right away, she felt better!
Jesus knew that someone had touched him, even though his disciples didn’t see anyone. So he asked, “Who was it that touched me?”
When all of his disciples denied that they had touched him, Peter spoke up and said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you! How could we possibly know who touched you?”
But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me.”
The woman saw that she had been discovered, and she came trembling and fell down before Jesus. She declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed.
Jesus was happy to see that the woman had faith in him. He told her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”
