Abraham was very old and so was his wife Sarah. They didn’t have any children, but they wanted one very badly. One day, God came to Abraham and promised him that he would have a son. Abraham was very happy, but Sarah couldn’t believe it.
One day, something amazing happened! God kept His promise and gave them a baby boy. They named him Isaac. Abraham was so grateful to God that he did what God asked him to do, which was to circumcise Isaac when he was eight days old.
Everyone was so happy that Sarah even said, “God has made laughter for me. Everyone who hears will laugh over me.” This was because Sarah was very old when she had Isaac, and everyone thought it was impossible for her to have a baby.
As Isaac grew up, they celebrated the day that he was weaned by having a big feast.
