This is a simplified version of the Bible story found in 1 Kings 17:1-6, written for children to understand. For the original version, please refer to the Bible passage.
Once upon a time, there was a man named Elijah who loved God. He went to see King Ahab and told him that there would be no rain for a long time. This meant that the ground would be dry, the plants wouldn’t grow, and the people would have a hard time finding food and water.
God told Elijah to go and hide by a brook called Cherith, which was in the east. Elijah did what God said, and he went to live by the brook. While he was there, God sent ravens to bring him food in the morning and evening. Elijah was able to drink water from the brook, and he was safe and cared for by God.
