A Prayer for Peace

Heavenly Father,

We come to You today seeking Your peace and guidance. We know that You are the source of all peace and that without You, we cannot find true peace in this world.

Please help us to trust in Your plan for our lives and to find rest in Your presence. May Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

We pray for peace in our families, our communities, and our world. We pray for an end to violence and conflict, and for the healing of the wounds that have been inflicted on Your people.

We pray for Your protection over those who are suffering and for Your wisdom for those who are seeking to bring about change and reconciliation.

We pray that Your love would be the driving force in all that we do and that Your peace would reign in our hearts and in the world.

Through the power of Your holy and mighty name, Jesus, we pray for peace. Amen.

Please watch over me and my loved ones, and keep us safe from all danger. Protect us from physical harm, from temptation and sin, and from the attacks of the enemy. May Your angels surround us and keep us in Your care.

I pray that You would give me the strength and the wisdom to follow Your will, and that You would guide me in the paths of righteousness. Help me to trust in You and to rely on Your protection at all times.

Thank You for Your loving care and protection. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer for Night

Dear God,

As I lay my head down to sleep, I thank You for the blessings of this day and for all that You have given me. I ask that You would watch over me and protect me throughout the night.

Please let Your love and grace surround me as I rest, and bring me peace and restfulness in my sleep. Help me to wake up refreshed and renewed in the morning, ready to serve You and follow Your will for my life.

I pray that You would use my sleep to renew my strength and refresh my spirit. I pray that You would use this time to speak to me through Your Word and through Your Spirit, and to guide me in the path that You have for me.

I pray that You would keep me safe from all harm and danger, and that You would keep my loved ones safe as well. Please watch over us and keep us close to You, through the night and always.

In the name of Your son, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

Psalm 23:1-6 ESV

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
    He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
    He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
    for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

Ephesians 3:14-21 ESV

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith€”that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
