Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with heavy hearts, as we have lost a loved one who was so dear to us. We trust in Your loving kindness and tender mercies, even in the midst of our sorrow.
We know that death is not the end, and that there is eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, we ask You to bring this truth to the mind and heart of our loved one, that they may come to know You and Your salvation.
We also pray for the comfort and support of those who are left behind. Lord, we ask that You would surround us with Your love and Your peace, that Your light would shine upon us and dispel the darkness of our grief. We ask that You would give us the courage to face each day with hope, and the comfort to know that You are with us in this difficult time.
We thank You for the time we had with our loved one, and for all the precious memories that we shared together. We pray that You would give us the strength to cherish those memories, and to pass them on to future generations.
As we grieve, we trust in Your promise that “neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
