The Lost Book Found: King Josiah's Story – Bible Story for Kids

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Josiah who became king when he was only eight years old. He was a good king and did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just like David his father.

One day, when King Josiah was all grown up, he decided to fix up God’s temple, which had fallen into disrepair. He sent some of his helpers to count the money that had been donated to the temple and give it to the workers who were fixing it up. They were told to buy wood and stone with the money so they could repair the temple. The workers were honest and did a good job.

While the workers were repairing the temple, they found a book that had been lost for a long time. It was the Book of the Law, which had all the rules and commandments that God had given to His people. They gave the book to King Josiah, and he read it.

When King Josiah heard what was in the book, he realized that the people of Judah had not been following God’s rules. He was very sad and tore his clothes. He told his helpers to go ask a prophetess named Huldah what God thought about their disobedience.

Huldah told the helpers to tell King Josiah that God was very angry with the people of Judah for not following His rules. But because King Josiah was sorry and humbled himself before God, God would not punish him. Instead, King Josiah would die in peace before any disaster came to Judah.

After hearing this, King Josiah gathered all the people of Judah and read the Book of the Law to them. He promised to follow God’s rules and lead his people in doing the same.

It’s important to read and study the Bible to understand God’s will for us.
God is merciful to those who are sorry for their sins and repent.
Leaders have a responsibility to lead their people in following God’s will.
Even if we have done wrong in the past, we can always choose to do what’s right in the future.
