Paul Preaches at Rome under Guard – Bible Story for Kids

This is a simplified version of the Bible story found in Acts 28:17-31, written for children to understand. For the original version, please refer to the Bible passage.

There was a man named Paul who loved Jesus very much. One day, he was put in prison in a place called Jerusalem, but he didn’t do anything wrong! The leaders of the Jewish people thought he was doing bad things, but they were wrong. So the Roman leaders came to talk to Paul and found out that he wasn’t guilty of anything bad.

But the Jewish leaders still wanted Paul to be punished, so Paul had to ask to talk to the highest leader in Rome, the Caesar.

When Paul arrived in Rome, he called together some leaders of the Jewish community. Paul wanted to talk to the Jewish leaders first and explain that he wasn’t guilty, and also to tell them about Jesus. So, they set a day to come back and talk to him.

The leaders came to Paul’s house to hear what he had to say. He explained to them that he hadn’t done anything wrong, but he was still put in jail. He also shared with them about his hope in Jesus and why he was wearing chains. Paul talked to them all day about Jesus and shared with them from the Old Testament (the Law and the Prophets) about how Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies. He talked to them all day, trying to help them understand the good news about Jesus. Some of the leaders believed what Paul said, but others didn’t.

Before they left, Paul reminded them of a prophecy from Isaiah about how some people wouldn’t believe in Jesus. Paul said that because the Jewish leaders didn’t believe, the good news about Jesus would now be shared with the Gentiles (non-Jewish people).

Paul lived in Rome for two years and continued to teach about Jesus to anyone who wanted to hear. Even though he was in chains, he never stopped sharing the message of Jesus with boldness.

We should never be afraid to tell others about Jesus, even if they don’t believe us.
We should always be truthful and stand up for what is right, even if it’s hard.
God’s message of salvation is for everyone, not just for a certain group of people.
