Israel Crosses the Jordan

This is a simplified version of the Bible story found in Joshua 3, written for children to understand. For the original version, please refer to the Bible passage.

One day, Joshua and the Israelites came to a big river called the Jordan. They wanted to cross it, but the water was too deep and too fast to walk through.

But Joshua knew that God was with them, so he told the priests to carry a special box called the ark of the covenant. The people were told to follow the ark, but they had to stay far away from it.

Joshua also told the people to get ready because God was going to do something amazing.

When the priests carrying the ark stepped into the water, the river started to pile up in a heap very far away. The water on one side completely stopped flowing, and the people were able to cross the river on dry land! Can you imagine how amazing that must have been?

God helped the Israelites cross the Jordan River, just like He promised. And they knew that He would help them drive out all the bad guys in the land He promised to give them.
