Joseph Brings His Family to Egypt – Bible Story for Kids

Once upon a time, there was a man named Jacob, who had 12 sons. One of his sons was named Joseph, and he was Jacob’s favorite son. This made Joseph’s brothers jealous, and they sold him into slavery in a faraway land. But God was with Joseph, and he became a powerful leader in that land.

Years went by, and there was a famine in the land where Jacob and his family lived. They had no food, so they decided to go to the land where Joseph was, which was called Egypt. God told Jacob in a dream not to be afraid to go to Egypt, and that he would make Jacob’s family into a great nation there.

So Jacob and his family, which included his sons, their wives, and their children, packed up all their things and traveled to Egypt. They brought all their animals too, so they could have food to eat. When they arrived in Egypt, Joseph was there waiting for them. He was so happy to see his family again after all those years. They hugged and cried together.

Joseph hugged his father and wept with joy. He was overjoyed to see his father again and could not wait to introduce him to the Pharaoh.

Joseph took his family to see the Pharaoh, who was like a king. Joseph told Pharaoh that his family were shepherds, which means they took care of animals like sheep and goats. Pharaoh was okay with them living in Egypt, as long as they stayed in a special part of Egypt called Goshen. The family was grateful to Joseph for helping them and for saving their lives during the famine.
