Prayer for Peace

Dear Lord,

We come before You today seeking Your peace and guidance. We know that You are the Prince of Peace and that You are able to bring calm to even the most tumultuous of situations.

We ask that You would bring peace to the nations of the world and to the hearts of all people. May Your love and grace fill us and help us to extend that love and grace to those around us. May we be instruments of Your peace, spreading Your love and light wherever we go.

We pray for an end to violence and conflict, and for a spirit of unity and understanding to prevail. Help us to be peacemakers in our own lives and in the world.

We trust in You and know that You are sovereign over all things. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

We pray all of this through the power of Your holy name, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer for Night

Dear God,

As I lay my head down to sleep, I thank You for the blessings of this day and for all that You have given me. I ask that You would watch over me and protect me throughout the night.

Please let Your love and grace surround me as I rest, and bring me peace and restfulness in my sleep. Help me to wake up refreshed and renewed in the morning, ready to serve You and follow Your will for my life.

I pray that You would use my sleep to renew my strength and refresh my spirit. I pray that You would use this time to speak to me through Your Word and through Your Spirit, and to guide me in the path that You have for me.

I pray that You would keep me safe from all harm and danger, and that You would keep my loved ones safe as well. Please watch over us and keep us close to You, through the night and always.

In the name of Your son, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith€”that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
